Father’s Day

I am so unorganised this years as regards to occasional cards and gifts. I made the card very quickly on Sunday morning (don’t tell my dad!). My dad is a massive vintage car fan, he owns two cars and a vintage tractor. Guy Greeting (order number 137178) from Stampin up was perfect for him and a lot of other guys! This set is great for any type of masculine card. The card colours I used where Island Indigo (order number 124390), Soft Suede (119982),  Very Vanilla (order number 106550).

Confirmation

In my local area many of the primary school children and making their first Confirmation. I was requested to make card by a few different people.  For occasions like this I concentrate on one design unless I get an order going to the same person. To make both designs I used files which I downloaded from Silhouette Studio

Easter Treats!

This is the cutest little sweet box I have ever come across! When I seen the mini egg boxes in the spring/summer Stampin UP catalogue I knew that I had to get them. I am sending these out to my family and friends instead of a huge easter eggs, I will of course put a few small eggs into them!. Another must buy for me was the Basket Builder bundle. It is perfect for Easter but like every Stampin Up products it can be mixed up to suit any occasion. Some of the ideas I have in mind for it are spring cards and packaging, birthdays, get well soon and thank you cards/3D designs. Pinterest is full of brilliant ideas! Click on the pinterest logo at the top of my page to follow me!. If you would like a copy of Stampin Up spring/summer catalogue send me a private message and I will post a copy to you or you can view a digital copy by clicking here. AND remember if you buy £45 worth of products before the 31st March you can pick some awesome free products or if you sign up you can get £130 worth of product for only £99 plus an awesome 20%-25% only all other stamp sets!

Mother’s Day Flowers

Recently I went to Ikea, I love the place! When I go it is a full day event and normal leaves my pockets empty! It is a brilliant shop for lots of craft items some of my favourites include box frames, ribbon and little glass jars (brilliant for decorating and filling with sweets!). On this visit I seen these little tin vases, they are everywhere on Pinterest. I picked up two of the smallest sizes (£2 each). I had no idea what I was going to make with them but I knew I needed them. After a few days I finally decided to make flowers for them. I made button flowers, the same as from our craft night. I added larger paper flowers and shredded green paper to make grass. To add the finishing touch I added ribbon, I posted them to my Facebook page and they sold almost instantly!

Mother’s Day

Here is the UK Mother’s Day is on the 26th March. So im going to use this as an on going theme for everything I make this month. I wanted to experiment with masking (stamping around a sheet of scrap paper) I found some amazing examples on Pinterest. A few of the stamps I used in this card are from retired Stampin Up sets, but this look can easily be created with current products. All of the colours I have used are from the current catalogue. If you would like a look at all Stampin Up’s great products click here, you will be linked directly to my shop. And dont forget if you spend £45 before the end of the month you get to pick free products from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue (there are some awesome products!)

Craft club

Last Friday was our monthly craft club meet up, the theme for this month was flowers. Our group consists of 6 members, including myself. We collect ideas during the month and then decide on one thing to make. Having other crafters around is great for inspiration, we are all at different levels and we all have different skills we teach each other. This is what we made on Friday night.

Christmas Madness!

The madness of Christmas is in full force at the moment. A few weeks ago I held my 2nd craft fair in aid of raising funds for my local community hall. It was a great success with lots of positive feed back, I forgot to take a picture of my stall, sorry! I have been keeping myself busy with lots of customised orders and attending other craft fairs, as a customer this time. It is great to be able to look around and appreciate the amount of talented makers and unique products on offer. This is a custom order for a baby’s first christmas I have made, apologies for the terrible photos!

Reindeer Food

Today I have been making ‘reindeer food’ to go into Christmas gift tins that I am making. I found this great printable reindeer food label design on Pinterest, click here to be directed to it! I made my reindeer food with porridge (oats), glitter and some shiny stars! I think its a super cute idea for the kids, I am going to make it a part of our Christmas eve tradition!

Birthday Boxes

birthday-box-1birthday-box-4birthday-box2Whenever I am giving my family and friends gifts I always love to try to add the ‘handmade touch’. These little boxes are 6cmx6cm, each box is made from 1 A4 sheet of card. It was a great way for me to use up little scraps of card and embellishments that I had lying around. My plan is to put sweets into them and give them out as a little extra birthday surprise.

Hi my name is Ashlinn….

Hi everyone it has been a long time since I last posted on here, over a year in fact! Life got very business and my crafting time had to be put too one side. Since I last posted I have welcomed a baby boy into our family, he has just turned one and is growing at a crazy rate. My little girl is growing too fast as well, she is now two. So as you can imagine life is crazy with two toddlers exploring the world! We have also moved house, back out to the beautiful country side of Northern Ireland. My husband and I where both raised in the country side so that is where we feel at peace.

When we moved house I had to say good-bye to my craft room. I now have a craft corner, 7 months later I am still experimenting with how I can get it to work best for me! I am currently helping to organise a craft fair with the local community group. Which mean I am now filling these dark cold evening with  lots of Christmas crafts for my stall, I love Christmas. This is my latest card design which I have made i have used Stampin’ Up rubber stamp set called ‘Santa’s Gifts’. To  make the star aperture on the card I used a star Sizzix die and my  Sizzix Big Shot machine. I hope my card inspires you and I promise my next post will be sooner rather than later.
