A great way of using up scraps of ribbon and card is too make gift tags. I used my Silhouette portrait machine to cut of the tag shape. This was a quick method for me as I wanted to make a large quantity for my craft stall. I then used ‘santa’s gifts’ stamp set from Stampin Up! All the ribbon and buttons are left overs from other projects, I am still on my personal mission to use up the crafting materials I have before I go and buy new materials!
Today I have been making ‘reindeer food’ to go into Christmas gift tins that I am making. I found this great printable reindeer food label design on Pinterest, click here to be directed to it! I made my reindeer food with porridge (oats), glitter and some shiny stars! I think its a super cute idea for the kids, I am going to make it a part of our Christmas eve tradition!
I am busy organising a craft fair for my local community hall, and of course I have a table book for myself. I plan on selling cards, photographs (i am a photography lover too!), stocking fillers and tea cups., which I have collected up over the past year or so. This week I started to make my ‘fry box’ stocking fillers. Last year these sold great for me, I had them filled with chocolates and candy canes. The ‘fry box’ die is from Stamping up, I have had it a few years now and it can be used for every occasion possible! My Christmas papers which I have used are from collecting over the years. At the start of this year I made a promise to myself that I would not purchase any more materials until I used up most of what I have collected. Like every other crafter I am a sucker for new paper and inks!
To create this card I used my Silhouette Portrait machine. I purchase my machine just over a year ago and it has been one of the best investments I have made to date. Designs are affordable and the variety is endless. I still have not fully masters the art of Silhouette there is still an endless amount of learning to do.
Hi everyone it has been a long time since I last posted on here, over a year in fact! Life got very business and my crafting time had to be put too one side. Since I last posted I have welcomed a baby boy into our family, he has just turned one and is growing at a crazy rate. My little girl is growing too fast as well, she is now two. So as you can imagine life is crazy with two toddlers exploring the world! We have also moved house, back out to the beautiful country side of Northern Ireland. My husband and I where both raised in the country side so that is where we feel at peace.
When we moved house I had to say good-bye to my craft room. I now have a craft corner, 7 months later I am still experimenting with how I can get it to work best for me! I am currently helping to organise a craft fair with the local community group. Which mean I am now filling these dark cold evening with lots of Christmas crafts for my stall, I love Christmas. This is my latest card design which I have made i have used Stampin’ Up rubber stamp set called ‘Santa’s Gifts’. To make the star aperture on the card I used a star Sizzix die and my Sizzix Big Shot machine. I hope my card inspires you and I promise my next post will be sooner rather than later.
