Number 1 Hairdresser!

hairdresser christmas card

Happy New Year! I still showing off some of my Christmas makes and gifts. I made this card as a request from my mum. She wanted a Christmas card for her hairdresser. I used the cute ‘seasonal chums’ reindeer from StampinUp along with their gold ribbon . The blue glitter card is from PaperMill Direct, the photograph does not show it at its best so it is worth a visit to their website. I have also used Stampin Up Star dies cuts which I used my Sizzix Big Shot to cut out.

Vintage Christmas Greetings

vintage santa

This is my absolute favourite christmas stamp set this season. I love the vintage style santa with his sack of toys. I stamped this image onto ivory pearlised paper from PaperMill Direct, The green and red layered card is also from PaperMill Direct. The base of this card is Kraft card that I picked up in my local craft shop. The stamp set is from Stampin Up and is called ‘Father Christmas’.

Snowman Tags

snowman box

I found this pretty little kraft box under a large pile of 12×12 papers. It is prefect for some christmas sweets, it just needed a little Christmas magic. I decided to keep the colour scheme simple and I think the red is the perfect colour with Kraft card. The red ribbon and the snowman stamp is from Stampin Up, this stamp set also comes with a matching thinlit set which makes life so much easier. This was a very quick project and colouring the snowman was very relaxing!

Scrabble Tree Decorations

scrabble decorscrabble decor2

After making loads of cards over the past few months I wanted to try something different. While browsing through Pinterest I started to see loads of things made from Scrabble tiles. It is something which I have never done and it looked like loads of fun! I went on Ebay and ordered some tiles, when they arrived I decided to make some christmas tree decorations. These where very simple to make and all I needed was a hot glue gun, ribbon, embellishments and glitter. These where loads of fun to make and it was nice to be working with different materials other than card and paper! The tiles I ordered from Ebay where cheap but not of a great quality, since making these I have picked up some more tiles from the range. They where slightly more expensive but they are of a better quality.

Nanny & Grandad.

nanny & grandad snowmannanny and grandad reindeerI have been making cards for quite a few years. When I first started to making cards every card I made was personalised and very unique. I would spend hours making one design. As my cards became more popular and I started making money I realized that I would have to change things a little. It was easy to make personalised birthday and wedding cards but when Christmas came around personlised card took up a lot of my time. I started to sell at craft fairs and I made loads of cards with out the personlised touch. My cards did sell but I have come to realised that when people are buying handmade they often what it personlised.  So I am moving back to my old ways and instead of making loads of pretty cards I have now started to give them a more personal unique touch. The stamp set which I have used to make these cards is from Stampin Up and is called ‘seasonal chums’.Has anyone else got any craft fair tips?

A Jolly Christmas to All

a jolly christmas to all

I wanted to make a quick Christmas card with the sentiment being the main focus. To make this card I used papers from my scrap box. We all have an overflowing scrap box, right!? The stamp set I used is called ‘Father Christmas’ and is from Stampin Up. My base card and coloured card is from PaperMill Direct. I used a gold gel pen to add in the stitched marks to give the card a little more detail, and used my Stampin Up Write markers to colour the holly.

Christmas treat box

At Christmas I like to give little treat boxes filled with sweets along with gifts. To make this box I used ‘window shopping’ thinlits from Stampin Up. This thinlit set is very versatile I have used it all year round. The stamp set which I used is also from Stampin UP but I am not sure of what it is called!. The ivory pearlised paper on the top of the box and the  red card are both from Paper Mill Direct, the quality of their card and paper is brilliant.

A Modern Santa

acetate santa card

The illustrations on this card and the colour combo is beautiful. It looks rich and festive. All the images are from a Hunkydory Collection. that I had laying in a drawer. I used dovecraft silicone glue to create depth and it stick everything brilliantly to the sheet acetate. The acetate sheet was a single A4 sheet. This card was so quick to make and it looks amazing.

Sleepy Foxes

I love these cute little foxes. They are part of a Hunkydory Christmas Collection which I purchased a few years ago and never used! I made this card from acetate. The more I experiment with this material the more I love it! I used my sizzix machine to emboss the acetate with a star design. This card is so simple but I love it!

My inspiration for this box came from Pootles.com. This is my 1st project using Acetate sheets. To make this box I used 1 A4 sheet. To glue all the panels in place I used Dovecraft Silicone Glue which I got from The Range stores.  The belly band which I put around the box is from an old Hunkydory Christmas collection which I never opened ( I can’t even remember the name!).
