Happy 30th Birthday!

card 30th birthday30th birthday

One of my closest friends turned 30 in July. I have known her since the first day of primary school, we do not get to see each other very often (sometimes being an adult sucks!)but when we do it feels like we have never been apart. To celebrate her birthday I took her for a nice dinner and a few drinks. It was so nice to have a girly evening out! I made her this card and a bottle tab just to make the champagne that little bit more special. All the stamps I used are from a retired Stampin Up set called ‘Bloom with hope’. I used my Silhouette machine to cut the numbers onto some glitter paper and the pink circles.

Happy Birthday

My baby boy turned two this week, time really does fly! I like to keep all the birthday cards we all receive in a keepsake box, looking back over them brings back so many happy memories. I spend my time making cards,as you all know, so this was a very easy task! He like most little boys loves tractors. The Silhouette store has a the cutest farm tractor image available by Studio Ilustrado. I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut the farm tractor image, text and the number.  I used my sizzix big shot to create the grass using a Stampin Up die called basket bunch (now retired). This was a quick fun project which just involved a little computer work, gluing and layering. The card was a big hit!

Birthday Boxes

birthday-box-1birthday-box-4birthday-box2Whenever I am giving my family and friends gifts I always love to try to add the ‘handmade touch’. These little boxes are 6cmx6cm, each box is made from 1 A4 sheet of card. It was a great way for me to use up little scraps of card and embellishments that I had lying around. My plan is to put sweets into them and give them out as a little extra birthday surprise.
